Welcome to BJ's adventures in Horsedom
This is my on-line journal of my on going journey through life, aided by my experience with horses.
I'm a relatively new convert to horses having only been riding for about 9 or so years, but for 5 of those I've been interested in Natural Horsemanship.
I passed Level 1 back in 2004 and then took an eternity
... well ok ..
4 years to be precise
to pass my Level 2. Someday when I've not got much to Blog I may wax philosophical about that phase of my journey, but now ...
Level 3 Beckons !
My partner is Harley, a beautiful palomino quarter horse. He was born in March 2005 so he's only a youngster. I bought him in January 2008. I did some basic games with him and then James Roberts started him (another quiet time blog maybe). He's mainly Left Brain and a mix of Introvert & Extrovert.
He's my playmate!

- Do it FOR and WITH the horse, not TO him
- The only bit you need is a bit of savvy
- Reward the slightest try
- Don't get mad, get even....tempered
- When you're firm, don't get mean or mad and when you're gentle, don't be a wimp
- Be as gentle as possible but as firm as necessary
- Nothing means nothing and everything means something
- Walk a mile in your horse's shoes
